As with all projects that depend on data, there is always a risk that access to data might be difficult to initiate, or that access might be interrupted or stopped (this might for instance happen when there is political change in the local government providing
wastewater and stormwater infrastructure data). In our context, this risk is somewhat mitigated because partial data has already been collected. In addition, some datasets are also available through the Government’s open data platforms
- for France at https://www.data.gouv.fr/),
- others through those of specific cities (https://data.montpellier3m.fr/ ,https://data.angers.fr/)
- or regions (https://data.iledefrance.fr/).
Finally, the diversity of the partners (multiple countries and in some instances multiple partners per country) will mitigate this risk. It will be prudent to multiply data sources, notwithstanding redundancy, to ensure sufficient access throughout the lifetime of the project.
