Partners:
Partner 1, CNRS - CRIL: Lens Computer Science Research Lab is a joint laboratory between University of Artois and CNRS (French National Centre for Scientific Research). CRIL has a strong research focus on Artificial Intelligence and carries out both fundamental research and software development following two main axes: i) processing imperfect, dynamic contextual and multi-source information; and ii) algorithms for inference and decision making. CRIL has a very strong involvement in regional (e.g., "humAIn" alliance), national and international scientific activities (e.g. European project TAILOR:“Trustworthy AI Integrating Learning, Optimization and Reasoning”) which gives it excellent visibility and very good attractiveness. CNRSCRIL will coordinate the project and is leading Work packages 3 and 5.
Contact: Salem Benferhat (Male), coordinator of this project, is a full professor at CRIL.
Partner 2, CNR - ISTI: Information Science and Technology Institute (ISTI), is located in Pisa, Italy and depends on National Research Council (CNR). Currently, more than 300 people work at ISTI, organised in 6 thematic areas, among which various ones address AI. To date, ISTI has been involved in 52 H2020 projects. ISTI is also part of CNR’s Virtual Laboratory on Artificial Intelligence, a national initiative that connects 70 research groups, 400 researchers, 6 Departments located throughout Italy.
Contact: Umberto Straccia (Male) Umberto Straccia is Director of Research at ISTI.
Partner 3: UM/IRD - HSM HydroSciences Montpellier is a joint research unit under the umbrella of University of Montpellier, CNRS and IRD. HSM is a multidisciplinary laboratory, known for its work on hydrosystems: from emerging contaminants, mining pollution, waterborne pathogens, to eco-hydrosystem, water transfer in heterogeneous aquifers, urban hydrology and extreme events... HSM is a leading member of the MUSE-Key initiative on Water. The members of HSM taking part in this project are employed either by UM or IRD and appear here as a single partner.
Contact: Carole Delenne (Female) is a Lecturer at the University of Montpellier since 2008 (Habilitation to Direct Researches obtained in 2014).
Partner 4, UCT - CAIR: The Centre for Artificial Intelligence (CAIR) of the University of Cape Town (UCT) is a centre funded by the South African government. CAIR conducts theoretical and applied research on various aspects of Artificial Intelligence. This includes research on adaptive and cognitive systems, foundations and applications of machine learning, computational logic, knowledge representation and reasoning, statistical approaches to AI, ethics of AI, AI and cybersecurity, and AI for development and innovation. It consists of nine research groups, two of which are based in Computer Science at UCT, spanning nine South African universities. CAIR has a strong culture of inter-group collaboration, as well as strong collaborative links with many research groups across the world.
Contact: Thomas Meyer (Male) is a Full Professor in the department of Computer Science at UCT, the UCT-CSIR Chair in Artificial Intelligence, and the Director of the Centre for Artificial Intelligence Research.
Partner 5, USMBA - LSIA: The Faculty of Science and Technology of Fez (FSTF) is an institution of the Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah (USMBA) that owns 2 accredited Doctoral training programs in the frame of the USMBA doctoral center "Sciences et Techniques et Sciences Médicales". It is host to 10 research laboratories, including LSIA (Intelligent Systems & Applications Lab) and EFGE (Functional Ecology and Environmental Engineering) which are directly involved in the current project.
Contact: Ahlame Begdouri (Female) is full Professor of computer science at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of Fez.
Partner 6, CTU - CICT: The College of Information and Communication Technology (CICT) is one of the seven IT colleges in Vietnam. The CICT focuses on training, research and technology transfer in IT. The research topics include Data mining, Machine learning, Computer vision, Information retrieval, IoT, Big data, and Modeling, Simulation.
Contact: Thanh-Nghi Do (Male): is currently an associate professor at Can Tho University.
